Rack In A Box

Growing your business can be both exciting and expensive. One consideration is making sure that your technology can support your needs now, yet can expand with you. The IT Bureau's solution, Rack-in-a-Box can make more effective use of your existing resources. It allows you to integrate functions and add on server appliances as and when your business needs them.

Often when thinking about expanding your technology systems, your first major purchase is a file server so that you and your staff can collaborate and share files. You may also consider a mail server. Once your business has several employees you might look to adding a PBX for making best use of your lines. With our Rack-in-a-Box system, you get the benefits of a computer room within a single server.

Each appliance (single function application) is treated separately so that it can be added, expanded and even removed without affecting any of the other systems. Appliances available for your Rack-in-a-Box: Microsoft compatible file share (using Samba) IMAP mail server Firewall VPN Fully featured PBX Microsoft XP (single user version) Microsoft Small Business Server SugarCRM Connecting couldn't be easier. Any of these systems can be installed and connected into your network whether it is wired or wireless.

Using virtual machine (VM) technology, The IT Bureau are able to configure multiple and diverse operating systems to work on the same hardware. This technology can be used in businesses of any size. Each VM acts as if it were completely separate, allowing restricted use and enhanced security if needed. The server can be configured to provide a variety of services for your business.

Possible appliances include file shares, local mail server, storage for large drawings or pictures, a PBX, customer relationship databases or your web server. Rack-In-A-Box is configurable to your needs. As your business grows the load on the machine increases, but with RIAB you can move a VM to a new machine giving you a totally scaleable IT solution.
